Slughorn immediately refuses Dumbledore's offer to return to Hogwarts, despite Dumbledore's calm persistence. The professor clearly does not want to be caught up in the dangers of teaching at the school during such troubled times. He reluctantly agrees to a drink for old times' sake, but his mood remains stubborn.
