Harry asks whether Lord Voldemort can sense when one of his Mystery - Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes is destroyed. Dumbledore explains that Lord Voldemort likely cannot, as he has become so detached from his soul through his many acts of evil. Lord Voldemort only discovered that the diary Horcrux was destroyed after Lucius Malfoy's mishandling of it.
