Ron and Hermione receive their Hogwarts letters and discover they have been made prefects. Fred and George are astonished that Ron, not Harry, was chosen. Mrs. Weasley is overjoyed and rewards Ron with a new broom. Harry feels conflicted, silently wondering why Dumbledore didn't choose him.
