At Flourish and Blotts, the bookshop is packed with witches eager to meet Gilderoy Lockhart, who is signing copies of his autobiography, Magical Me. Lockhart pulls Harry to the front of the line, announces that he will be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and gives Harry a free set of his books. The media attention embarrasses Harry, and he quickly retreats back to the Weasleys.
