Harry is Left Alone in Albus Dumbledore's Office and Encounters the Sorting Hat and Fawkes
PAGES: 205-207
Harry Potter is left alone in Albus Dumbledore's office after Professor McGonagall brings him in. While waiting, he observes the various magical objects in the room and decides to try on the Sorting Hat again, hoping to confirm his place in Gryffindor. The hat, however, repeats that Harry would have done well in Slytherin, which unsettles him. Harry then notices Fawkes, Albus Dumbledore's phoenix, which bursts into flames before Albus Dumbledore enters and explains the bird's rebirth cycle.
