Discovering Hermione's Clue: The Basilisk

While visiting Hermione Granger in the Hospital Wing, Harry and Ron discover a piece of paper clenched in her hand. It describes the Basilisk, a deadly serpent that kills with its gaze. Hermione had also written "Pipes," leading Harry to realize that the monster is using the plumbing to travel through the school.
